Hazardous waste storage

PELCO's premises at the Patras Industrial Zone include a Temporary Storage Station for Hazardous Waste.

The Station's plan, construction and operation are fully aligned with international safety standards as the EU and Greek legislation require in the case of hazardous waste storage.

The Station is equipped with a fire detector system in every storage compartment, a decontamination system in the waste repackaging area as well as a drain system connected to a collection tank for the channelling of possible leaks or washings.

The Station's storage capacity is 520 tons, shown analytically for every compartment in the following Table:

The Station's operation ensures the immediate removal of hazardous waste from production area, even for the waste that cannot be processed by PELCO's plants.

The waste is collected from the production premises, is packaged in UN certified packaging according to its kind and following it is transferred to a temporary storage Station for cross-border transfer and final distribution to certified units abroad.

The entire waste collection-storage and final disposal process is accompanied by the necessary documentation:

  • Identification document for the Collection and Transfer of Hazardous Waste.
  • Certification of Reception and Temporary Storage of Hazardous Waste.
  • Certification of Final Desposal of Hazardous Waste.

PELCO's ability to manage a wide range of hazardous waste, combined with its experienced staff and the necessary know-how and equipment, it ensures that producers receive an integrated solution for all types of produced waste, in a timely manner, at a low cost and always respecting the environment and the requirements for hazardous waste management.
